40ft Expandable Container House for Long-Term Family Living
In response to increasing housing demands and the need for faster, more adaptable solutions, a private client selected Wansheng Technology’s 40ft expandable container house as a permanent home for his family of five. The project was located in a suburban residential development, where traditional construction would have required significant time, labor, and permits. Facing a tight schedule and limited on-site resources, the client was looking for a fast-deploying, customizable home with all essential functions.
The Wansheng team worked closely with the client to develop a layout featuring three bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a full bathroom—perfectly optimized for family living. Each unit was prefabricated with pre-installed electrical wiring, plumbing, flooring, doors, and windows. The installation process, handled by the client’s local contractor using our detailed manual, was completed in just over 24 hours, allowing the family to move in almost immediately.
One of the key advantages was the flexibility of the structure. The dual-wing expandable design allowed the space to unfold into a 75㎡ living area, while folding down to reduce transport and storage space. The client reported excellent insulation performance, even during hot summers and chilly nights, with interior temperatures remaining stable.
Post-installation feedback emphasized the home’s comfortable interior, efficient space utilization, and quiet atmosphere—especially important for a family with young children. The client expressed full satisfaction with the product and service and plans to expand with an additional unit for a home office and guest room in the near future.
